Network Engineer

The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining reliable network infrastructure supporting business-critical systems across on-premises datacenters and cloud environments (AWS and Azure). The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on expertise with enterprise network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls) and advanced cloud networking knowledge, partnering with DevOps, Security, and Compliance teams to ensure high availability, performance, and secure connectivity.

Responsibilities:

On-Prem Network Infrastructure

• Manage, configure, and maintain enterprise switches, routers, and firewalls
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure high availability
• Perform upgrades, firmware updates, and lifecycle maintenance on network hardware
• Design and implement scalable network architectures aligned with best practices

Cloud Network Engineering (AWS & Azure)

• Design, implement, and manage cloud networking (VPCs/VNets, subnets, routing, NAT gateways, VPNs, firewalls, peering)
• Implement secure connectivity between on-prem and cloud (Site-to-Site VPN, AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute)
• Collaborate with DevOps/cloud teams to optimize connectivity, security, and performance
• Ensure alignment with cloud security best practices and governance frameworks

Security & Compliance

• Configure and manage network security controls (firewalls, ACLs, IDS/IPS, WAF, segmentation)
• Conduct security reviews, vulnerability assessments, and remediation activities
• Support regulatory and audit requirements in partnership with Security/Compliance teams

Operations & Support

• Provide Tier 3 escalation support for network issues
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and runbooks
• Participate in on-call rotation as required

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on enterprise network engineering experience
• Strong proficiency with core networking technologies
• Experience managing Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet, or equivalent hardware
• Proven expertise in AWS and Azure networking concepts and services
• Solid understanding of cloud security fundamentals, identity, and access management (IAM)
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting
• Ability to work independently, solve complex problems, and drive initiatives end-to-end

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, JNCIP, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Network Engineer Associate)
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code for network automation (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
