    Junior cloud FinOps Engineer

    Description

    Deloitte Israel is seeking a motivated and analytical Junior FinOps Consultant to join our growing FinOps & Cloud Technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-impact group, supporting leading organizations in optimizing and understanding their cloud spend while advancing your expertise at the nexus of cloud, data, and finance.

    What you will do:

    • Support data-driven analysis and reporting on cloud costs (AWS, Azure, GCP) for clients across industries.
    • Collect, validate, and structure cloud billing and usage data for both technical and business stakeholders.
    • Build and maintain standardized dashboards and reports to provide cost visibility and actionable insight (monthly cost packs, budget vs. actuals, trend analysis).
    • Analyze cloud usage patterns to identify cost optimization opportunities—including rightsizing, idle resource cleanup, reservation recommendations, and storage tiering.
    • Document findings, track optimization implementations, and coordinate with clients for follow-up.
    • Collaborate in the implementation of tagging frameworks, shared-cost allocation models, and showback/chargeback practices.
    • Assist finance and FP&A teams in cloud budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
    • Prepare materials for workshops, training, and FinOps Academy-style knowledge-sharing initiatives.
    • Document best practices, playbooks, and processes for Deloitte FinOps client engagements.
    • Stay updated with the latest in cloud pricing, FinOps methodologies, and tools, sharing insights with the team.

    Requirements

    • 1–2 years of experience in financial analysis, data analysis, BI, cloud operations, DevOps, or related analytical/technical roles (internships and student positions are welcome).
    • Basic understanding of public cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, pricing concepts, and cloud geography).
    • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with large datasets in Excel or Google Sheets.
    • Hands-on experience with at least one BI or visualization tool (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, QuickSight, or similar) is an advantage.
    • Exposure to cloud billing and cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing Export) is an advantage.
    • Bachelor’s degree completed or in final year in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (strong advantage).
    • FinOps Certified Practitioner or other relevant cloud/finance certifications – an advantage.

    Personal Skills:

    • Excellent quantitative and analytical abilities, with strong attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
    • Effective communicator—able to explain technical concepts clearly in both written and spoken English (Hebrew is a plus).
    • Collaborative team player, able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
    • Eager to learn, curious, thorough, and passionate about making an impact and growing professionally.
